Noi monede comemorative din Ucraina - 27.02.2018

The seventh and eighth coins of the series "Wildlife in cultural monuments of Ukraine" dedicated to the Wild Boar and the Dolphin were issued today February 27 by the Bank of Ukraine. These pieces and all of the series have facials of 5 grivnas and are minted in 925 sterling silver.

On the obverse of these pieces, and of all of the series, a monument, piece or historical engraving dedicated to the animal in question, always located or discovered in Ukraine, is represented in gold. On the back we see a characteristic image of the animal.

Wild pig
Dedicated to the Wild Boar, whose image is embodied in unique monuments of ancient cultures that existed in the territory of Ukraine. These cultures have made a significant contribution to the world treasure of art. Invaluable memories of the culture of antiquity tell how people learned to work with natural materials and tried to empower them with the help of symbols: images of animals, birds, people, etc. 
 
 
On the obverse is a sculptural figure of the late fourth century in which the protagonist is the Wild Boar. As usual, in all Ukrainian currencies, the national coat of arms of Ukraine, the year of issue, the face value and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine are also represented.
 
 
On the back of the coin and on the left, a boar is represented, the text with its name vertically, on the right a stylized fragment of a plaque corresponding to Scythian art, with the image of the animal.

Dolphin
Dedicated to dolphins, whose image is embodied in the monuments of culture from different eras that existed in the territory of Ukraine. These cultures have made a significant contribution to the world treasure of art. In the territory of modern Ukraine for thousands of years lived tribes and peoples that created a distinctive culture, delivering it as a heritage to following generations. Beliefs and religions have shown a respectful attitude of people towards nature, particularly animals. 
 
 
On the obverse is a golden image of a dolphin discovered in a funeral tomb corresponding to the Sarmatian peoples, under this a coin corresponding to the same time. It also represents the national coat of arms of Ukraine, the year of issue, the face value and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine. 


On the back of the coin on the left, a dolphin is represented, on stylized waves, the inscription Dolphin in vertical, on the right a dolphin coin from Olbia.
