Few coins should be in the world that touch the subject of lifting weights or weightlifting, one of them is the one that Ukraine issued on January 23 in the series "Legendary athletes of Ukraine" dedicated to the killer Leonid Jabotinsky. Ukrainian by birth, I represent the extinct Soviet Union, establishing 19 world records in the superheavy category, proclaiming Olympic champion in Tokyo 64 and Mexico 68.
The obverse shows the athlete with his hands raised triumphantly, to the left of it appears a sports scoreboard that shows, apart from his name, his Olympic and world records. As usual, in all Ukrainian currencies, the national coat of arms of Ukraine, the year of issue, the face value and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine are also represented.
On the back we see in the foreground a portrait of Leonid Jabotinsky, in the background the complete figure of the athlete performing an uprising, under the years in which he lived 1938 - 2016, in the left semicircle his name is written in Ukrainian language and in capital letters ЛЕОНИД ЖАБОТИНСЬКИЙ.
