The British Royal Mint has only taken a few hours of the newborn 2018 to show what are its numismatic novelties, in what refers to commemorative currency circulating for this year. In total there are 5 pieces that presents, three with facials of 2 pounds, bimetallic type, one 50 pence and one of 5 pounds, the latter although not usually used as a means of payment can be considered circulating as it has power liberatory

2 Pounds - 200 Anniversary of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein Publication
 

 


The reverse of this coin presents the words 'Frankenstein' in the form of electric current waves, and the texts, above 'Bicentenary of Mary Shelley's' and below '1818 - The Modern Prometheus - 2018'. The Modern Prometheus is a literary work known in Spain as "The Modern Prometheus" and popularly as Frankenstein. It was published on March 11, 1818 by the English writer Mary Shelley's. The obverse has the traditional image of Queen Elizabeth II.

2 Pounds - Centennial of the Royal Air Force
 
 
The reverse shows the RAF logo . An eagle flies in front of a circle inscribed with the official motto 'Per Ardua Ad Astra', which in Latin means 'Through adversity in the beginning', with the imperial crown at the top. The gold ring of the coin reads "The 100th Anniversary of the Royal Air Force" and the years "1918 - 2018" . The obverse has the traditional image of Queen Elizabeth II.

2 Pounds - Armistice Centenary of the First World War
 
 
The Armistice of 1918 was the first step to end the horrors of the First World War. The reverse shows in the center, on a mud background, the words "The untold truth, the compassion of war", belonging to a quote from the poem "Strange encounter" by Wilfred Owen. In the golden ring you can read "First World War - Armistice of 1918", and the face value 2 pounds. The obverse has the traditional image of Queen Elizabeth II.

50 Pennies - Law of Representation of the People of 1918
 
 
The coin celebrates the centenary of the approval, on February 6, 1918, of the Law of Representation of the People, which granted for the first time the vote to women, which suppose a great milestone in democracy. The reverse features five men and women in line ready to vote, where a woman wins a ballot. The words "Law of representation of the people" are written below the year 1918. The obverse has the traditional image of Queen Elizabeth II.

5 Pounds - Prince George's fifth birthday of Cambridge
 
 
The coin is issued to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the birth of Prince George on July 22, 2013. The obverse shows an image of St. George killing a dragon with a spear and the year of issue, 2018. The obverse has the traditional image of Queen Elizabeth II.
