O nouă monedă comemorativă norvegiană - 26.02.2017

The Bank of Norway has circulated a currency of 20 kroner (crowns) to commemorate the "100 Years of the First Sami Congress" which took place between 6 and 9 February 1917. The Sami people, also known as Lapon is the indigenous people living in the Arctic, in the Sápmi region, in what we now know as Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Kola Peninsula in Russia.



The front of the coin shows King Harald V of Norway in a profile portrait looking to the right. Around the portrait: HARALD V ∙ KING OF NORWAY. To the left of the portrait, at the height of the neck, appears the signature of Ingrid Austilid Rise, engraver of the mint of Norway. The lower part shows the year of issue and the mint mark.

The reverse side of the coin designed by the artist Annelise Josefsen under the name of "Interaction", represents symbols taken from the Sami mythology and designs that appear in their ceremonial drums.
