My friend Carlos Peláez just sent the first image and official information of the commemorative 2 euro coin that Italy dedicates in this 2017 to the "400th Anniversary of the Completion of the Basilica of San Marco in Venice". It explains the following about this issue.

The reason was approved by the Italian authorities on July 20, 2016, while his sketch it was on 21 September 2016.
The reason was announced on 22 December 2016 in an interview by the director of the Italian mint, Adriano Balma. Being confirmed in the Program of emissions of Italy for 2017, published days later. Confirming that the currency would be included in the FDC-BU Divisional Portfolio, and in the PROOF Divisional Case, in addition to being sold in a PROOF Individual Case.
The Decree of January 16, 2017 of the Director General of the Treasury, Vincenzo La Vía, in which the issue was approved, specified the artistic characteristics and Techniques of the coin, a circulation of 1.5 million copies, and determined the date of January 27 in which they will acquire their validity of legal tender.

The motif is composed of an image of the facade of the Basilica of San Marco in Venice. Below, in the exergue, the date of the commemoration "1617" and the one of emission "2017", separated by the monogram "RI" of the Italian Republic appears, and below in an arched line that fits to the external edge of the Core, the inscription "SAN MARCO". While on the right, next to the base of the facade are the initials "LDS" of the author of the design, Luciana De Simoni. Above, in the same way does the inscription "VENEZIA" and the mark of the Italian mint "R".
