Orchid Cypripedium calceolus 



It is a plant that is distributed throughout the northern hemisphere, stretching from Europe to Asia to the Pacific Ocean.

herbaceous plant consisting of three to four amplexicaules leaves and 1 or 2 large flowers. Flower consists of just greater than brown petals sepals.

The lip color egg yolk and inflated reminds a slipper hence its name "sabot of Venus", "sabot lady" or "lady slipper".

It blooms from May to July.

It is found in open woodland areas, in wet calcareous soils. Their populations have declined greatly in European countries, as it has been collected due to its appeal, and consequently given legal protection in several countries as it is in danger of extinction.
