Două noi monede comemorative ucrainiene - 24.05.2016

The Bank of Ukraine issued on 20 May, two coins with face 5 and 10 Hryven struck an alpaca and the other in silver, both with the same design but change the colored areas depending on the value of it, dedicated to Petrykivka decorative painting, declared intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2013. 



The reverse shows a stylized composition, in which a woman with a traditional dress and a flower in her hand surrounded by paintings depicted Petrykivka.

The obverse shows the hand of a woman with a brush under which appear typical Petrykivka art paintings, the State Emblem of Ukraine, the year of issue, the face value and the logo of the Bank of Ukraine are also shown.





The two values ​​differ, apart from the registration of face value, for the face is colored, as you can see in the picture above.

Painting Petrykivka




The villagers of Petrykivka decorate their homes and decorate their household objects and musical instruments with paintings of a symbolic nature, which predominate fantastic floral motifs and other elements inspired by nature, which are the result of careful observation of fauna and flora local.

This pictorial art is rich in symbols: the rooster represents fire and spiritual awakening, while birds evoke light, harmony and happiness. According to popular belief, these paintings have the gift of protecting people against melancholy and hexes.

All local residents involved in the implementation of this traditional art, particularly women of all ages. In each family there is at least one person who practices ornamental painting, making it an integral part of the daily life of the community.
